Bandwidth exceeded, again --October 24th, 2001

Frequent visitors to the site may had noticed the downtime over the weekend. This site's 20 Gig bandwidth had exceeded and was suspended. In order to keep it up for the remainder of the month, I have to make the Mp3s and Wallpapers unavailable, in the hopes of conserving bandwidth.

On the good side, there are more Fan-arts and fics up... 

SR2 was delayed, but be patient -- September 28th, 2001 -- (SR2 section update)

For those who may not have heard (though who hasn't by now?), Soul Reaver 2 has been pushed back until somewhere in mid-October, but don't be surprised if it is closer to the end of the month. 

Rant: Relese dates are unreliable for they are just a 'guess' issued by the publishers of a game to attempt to appease those anxious for the game. Those who are making the games could not tell you when they would be done themselves, not when still in the testing/'clean-up' phase. So no, NR does not post 'release dates' since there is no real use to... 

New Fics, Art, Wallpaper and a skin --September 28th, 2001

New additions have been added to all four fan-work types -- 5 fic additions, 2 arts and wallpapers and one cool Blood Omen WinAmp skin. 

Blood Omen 2 section opened --September 5th, 2001

A Blood Omen 2 section has been created containing a brief overview of the game as revealed in previews thus far, as well as addressing the concerns of some long-time LoK fans. New fan-arts have been added as well. SR2 updates are still in the works. Two new Winamp skins have also been added.

Due to popular demand, I now open a Blood Omen 2 section.  There is not very much in the way of information yet but links are provided.  The Game Info section includes my preview explaining my concerns of the upcoming title... 

Late Fan-fiction Update --July 12th, 2001

A very belated update of the fan-fictions are now up, with a few more to soon follow. There has also been a revision made to the Fan-fiction submission rules, so if you are currently writing a fic please review them before submitting. 

New fan-arts added --June 28th, 2001

Sorry it took so long but there are finally some more fan-arts added. Including the first ever submitted fan-art that is both a scuplure and jewlery. Check it out. It will still be some time before more fan-fics are posted though and for that I apologize...

I just recently compiled info from several articles and put them into my own article. I was hoping to add more screenshots but I fear that will have to wait. There are links to plenty of the new screenshots release anyway so enjoy those. The Offical SR2 site has also recently been updated with more info and pics.

Additions to all fan-galleries --March 30th, 2001

I update with a plethora of fan-works. 7 new stories/chapters in fan-arts, 6 new fan-arts and 8 new fan-wallpapers 6 of which are more cool works of Zelen Gangrel. Enjoy.

Just added some images and a wallpaper.  And if you haven't seen the redesigned Official SR2 site, then check it out. 

SR2 for Dreamcast cancelled --March 21th, 2001 -- (SR2 section update)

It is old news by now but Eidos had decided to cancel the Dreamcast version of Soul Reaver2.  Since then there has been a petition set up which have already gotten over 15,000 total signatures!  Most of the time petitions are merely a futile effort, which may still be the case with this one.  But for the many disgruntled and disapointed Dreamcast owners out there taking the time to sign can't hurt.  You can find the petition here.

Small update --February 27th, 2001

I just added a lot of fan-arts(8), some more fan-wallpapers(6), and a new chapter to a fan-fic. Otherwise it's pretty slow here in Nosgoth... 

New section --February 10th, 2001

A new section has been added -- LoK Fan-wallpapers.  Most of these varies in sizes and won't perfectly fit any of the 'standard' screen resolutions, but they are still worth a look.  12 out of 15 of these are by Zelen Gangrel, who has been very patient in waiting for me to add these to the site. So check them out. 

Additionally the domain transfer is still taking place.  It might even work for some people in some areas already, depending on one's ISP.  Theoretically anyway -- it still isn't working for me... 

Re: fan-fics -- well, I'm getting to them...  there is a lot that needs to be sorted through first. 

Furthermore, the IRC Java applet has now been fixed.  It's been moved to another location as they are not allowed to be stored at my current web host, but it should do.  It's still unregistered though, sorry. 

One extra thing -- currently the SR 2 section is way behind up updates. I plan, with the help of forum members, to gather as much info on SR2 (and later BO2). But until then, I'll post a link to the same movie found on the U.S. OPM magazine that I took from the disk. It's about 13 Megs in size compressed (15 uncompressed) though. But if you have a high speed connection but don't have access to the disk for some reason then enjoy. 

EDIT: A member at the Nosgothic Realm Forum, Nupraptor the Mentalist, kindly took the AVI of the SR2 movie and encoded it into an MPEG file, which cuts it's size down from 13 Megs to just a little less than a 8 Meg download. It's a self-extracting (exe) file compressed by Winrar, and it's also in French. (Not the movie it's self, just the extraction program.) To watch it just download the file, double-click on the SR2.exe file, select where you want it to extract to with the "Parcourir..." button and hit the "Extraire" button. I'll leave the larger AVI up for now, in case anyone has difficulty with this one but, here it is. They've also got a pretty cool website you can check out, also in French.

Transfering --January 24th, 2001

I finally got the hosting problem resolved.  It may still take a week or so for the domain transfer to take effect, so after the 31st of January you may have difficulty finding this site unless you bookmark either this location of the site or the forum. 

It may also take some time to finalize the transfer of all the site content.  My next step afterwards will be to go through the fan-work submissions I recieved during this latest stretch of downtime and contacting the artists/authors. 

More hassles --January 3rd, 2001

It seems that the web host for this site is going out of buisness, which is why the FTP is down. Thus, the Mp3s and wallpapers are currently unavailable. Also, I am unable to upload any new files or create any new pages, I can only edit existing ones. So until further notice, this site will (again) be put on stand by. 

Upgrades --December 24th, 2000

Part of the reason for the lack of updates lately is that I had to upgrade my old obsolete computer.  Now that I have that taken care of, and a much faster internet connection to work with, all I need to do is find a way to dodge RL work and get some significant updates done. Until then, check out Eidos' offical Soul Reaver 2 site for some new wallpapers and screenshots. 

Back from suspension --December 4th, 2000

For those who were afraid the site was shut down or moved, it was only suspended -- the bandwith (transfer) limit had been exceeded.  (Perhaps that was due to the numbers of Mp3s/Wallpapers available and the chat applet.)  Even though the site is back up now, things will still be going slow for awhile.  Not much time to update anymore...  But to those who e-mailed me inquiring about the site and those who offered support, thanks. 

Late Update --November 14th, 2000

I finally got a chance to do some updating though I only got 60% of what I wanted to do completed. I added a few more Mp3s, a hand-full of fan-arts and 2 more Win Amp skins. There are also some new fan-fics, including the 'thrilling' conclusion to the Dark Fox's "Angels of Death" story. (There's still some formating to be fixed on it and should be checked again for typos, but it can be read.) I hope to get more updated later.
