Update archives:
New Fan-arts added
-- April 10th, 2000
After recently receiving some more fan-arts (as well as searching back
through my inbox from a while ago) I realize that I haven't been giving
the fan-arts enough attention. Now there are 7 new works in addition
to the 4 already here. (Sorry it took me so long, people; from now
on I will work to be more prompt in adding them.) Also, I now have
grouped all the works into one gallery, instead of hiding them within one
of the three 'themed' galleries like was done before. One new fan-fic
has been added -- Part II of "Loki: Laments for the Fallen" written
by Baron Harkonen. It is coming along great and well worth checking
out if you haven't yet (in my opinion, at least).
Additionally, this is the new location that is currently still being
tested. If you have any problems with this site, such as images not
showing up, loading problems, etc. then I would appreciate you
telling me about it. If you are at any time unable to access
this site, then you should also keep the Dencity
location on your bookmarks just in case...
Back again...for now.
--April 3rd, 2000
I apologize for the lack of updates lately. There are still a
few problems which I am facing that are beyond my control. But for
now I am back. I am adding 5 fan-fics, and I am working on the SR
dialogue pages amoung a few other ventures...
More Fan-Fics --
March 20, 2000
I am still busy trying to get the before mentioned 'problems' sorted
out, but I managed to add 3 pages to the fan-fictions... enjoy. I
hope to be back full-time soon....
Facing Reality...
--March 13, 2000
I need to take a short break from updating this site for a while --
somethings have came up that I must attend to for a bit. This is
not a "goodbye" message, as I still plan to expand/change the site in the
future, including plans for adding the Soul Reaver dialogue, more fan fiction/art,
and a new site design. I just need to get my priorities straight
first...
More Great Fan-Fics -- March
4th, 2000
I just introduced four new fan fics, two of which are to be continued,
and a new chapter to "Nosgoth's Fate" has also been added.
I am also working on getting yet another mirror of the site going,
which will hopefully will be for the better -- it sounds too good to be
true but they offer unlimited space, and no forced advertisements!
I fear that there is a catch to this somewhere, like perhaphs their servers
go down too often, or they limit the bandwith too much... there will
probably be something.
Blood Omen Dialogues added
The pages containing all of the dialogue from Blood Omen are finally
completed and are now open. This section may be of aid to those people
who need help understanding BOs complex storyline, or also for those who
have no intentions of playing Blood Omen but wish to better understand
Nosgoth before Soul Reaver. Or for anyone who is already a huge fan
of Blood Omen but just always wanted the scritpt to read through.
Whatever your purpose, I hope you enjoy this section. I would
like to get some feedback on the dialogue section,
so I encourage everyone to send
me an e-mail or stop by the forum and let me know what you think. Thank you in advance.
LoK Fan Fiction section opened --Feb. 21, 2000
An amazing thing occured over the weekend -- it seemed that all at
once several fans at TULoKMB annouced that they either had written or are
currently writing LoK fan fics. The amazing part to me is timing...
for a while now I had recieved several e-mails from people wondering where
they could find some LoK fan fics, and until now I knew of none.
Now I know of three, and perhaphs several more are on the way (maybe one
being my own). When I mentioned to them my interest in posting these
works the response was great, and I hope to get more in the future.
Nosgothic REALM
I have been busy with many things the past few weeks, and this forum
is one of them. Since this forum is administrated by me (unlike TULoKMB,
to some peoples' confusion) this is the actual forum to the Soul Reaver
REALM. I could describe the forum here, but it's much easier to go
check it out for yourself.
SR REALM
is moving to this location --Feb.
18, 2000
Due to the limited web space left
at the Geocities site (and the fact that their ad
pop-ups are infamous for being distracting and messing up frames),
the SR REALM will eventually be moving here completely. Currently
this particular location is the mirror site of the SR REALM, which is graciously
being hosted by Dencity (offering more space, no ads).
Soon, however, the old location will
be the mirror site and this one will become the main (and hopefully improved)
site. (Confused? Well, the other site
will be like "back-up" while it is this site that should be followed.
Just discovered this site at this location? Good, then just keep
track of this one.)
Also of note
is that the Wallpapers are currently down. (Some
idiot deleted the contents of my other account...)
I'm working on getting them back up. On the other side of the Abyss,
the complete Blood Omen dialogue will soon be added to the "History of
Nosgoth" section, which is closed until then. The section is practically
done, I am only awaiting confirmation from my superior before revealing
it to the public.
One last thing,
the guestbook, previously offered by Geocities (not thier newer crappy
ones) does not work from this location. I am currently working getting
a new one, but until then if you want to sign the guestbook you will need
to visit the other location at the following URL. Thank you. http://www.geocities.com/cyborreaver/
PC Cheats! --Feb.
14, 2000
Yes, you read that right -- there
are cheat codes for the PC, and the REALM is the first to have them.
(Well, that I know of...) They are in the Codes
section. They are also posted at various LoK forums.
Updated
Codes Section --Feb.
1, 2000
In light of the arrival of Soul
Reaver to the Dreamcast (and of the Dreamcasters to the SR REALM) I have
added the SR cheat codes for the Dreamcast version. I have also made
the trainer available for the PC version. (Sorry,
no PC codes yet. But this trainer is the next best thing.)
New Wallpaper --Feb.
1, 2000
3 new wallpapers were added in the
Raziel Gallery.
I also apologize for the lack of
updates lately -- I have been working on new sections (namely ones that
list the dialogue for Soul Reaver and Blood Omen) but had gotten caught
up in a few other activities. Note that as long as I am in existence,
this site will be as well -- and I will continue to work on making it grow.
When I am no longer able to, (if possible) I will announce otherwise here.
NOW The
Mp3s Work --Jan. 12, 2000
I mean it
this time. They are still contained
in .zip files, but at least they are now on a much more reliable server.
The space is being provided by Legnaji,
to whom big thanks goes.
New Wallpapers
Added --Jan. 12, 2000
The three
newest wallpapers released by Eidos have been added -- one to each gallery.
Now clicking on the appropriate link will open one new browser window,
and within that window will confirm the wallpaper style and size that you
selected. New selections will open in that same window. And
therein, clicking on the image will prompt the download.
Mp3 problems
again --Jan.
7, 2000
I've been
told that there is still a problem with the Ozar Midrashim download.
I will check it again as soon as I can. I may have to find another
place to store it. The other one of the ending credits should still
be working, though.
New Wallpapers
Released --Jan. 4, 2000
Eidos has
recently released more SR wallpapers, the newest one on Monday (1/3/00).
Pretty cool. There were two others that I had missed that were released
on 12/20/99. I don't have these newest ones available here yet, but
you can get them at Eidos
Interactive's SR site in the "wallpaper" section. They also have
some "new" screenshots for the Dreamcast version there, too.
Mp3 Downloads
Fixed --Jan. 1, 2000
I finally
got the Mp3s in working order. They are now both in .zip files, but
that's the best I could do. Clicking the links will take you to a
remote page in a separate browser window that should automatically start
the downloading process. If anyone finds any other difficulties downloading
either of the files, they are encouraged to let me know at cyborreaver@hotmail.com.
Soul Reaver
Mp3s --Dec. 21, 1999
I finally
got the Mp3 of Ozar Midrashim, courtesy of Morrigan. Visit the Mp3
page to download. I'm still working on getting the other music.
(Man, I wish they would make a soundtrack...)
Giving
Credit Where Credit is Due --Dec.
20, 1999
I'm adding
a section that names all the people who worked hard to bring you Legacy
of Kain: Soul Reaver.
Why bother when the credits are in the game manual
and at the end of the game, you ask? Because it's my small way
of saying thanks to everyone who had a hand in making one of the best games
ever (in my opinion) a reality.
In other
news... --Dec. 20, 1999
A lot of requests
for Mp3s of Soul Reaver's music has been going around lately, and
I'm working on a solution to this. I already have an Mp3 of the ending
credits made (which almost anyone who's into rippers has probably made
one). And I might be getting the "Soul Reaver mix" of Ozar
Midrashim soon. Getting the other music will be a bit tricky, but
stay tuned for further developments.
Upgraded
the Blood Omen Section --Dec.
09, 1999
In an attempt to prove to myself
that frames can be good (I used to hate them), I re-created "Blood
Omen: The History of Nosgoth" in an "elaborate" frame scheme. (I
also got rid of the cheesy "time traveling" screens.) And
I'm rather pleased with the results. I just may frame the rest of
the REALM someday...
Dreamcast
screens of Soul Reaver --Dec.
09, 1999
The first batch of screenshots for
the Dreamcast version was released on 12/06/99. IGN
has these 11 screenshots -- Click
Here to Visit. I have created a small section containing several
of these shots, with PSX and PC screens along side for comparative
purposes. The differences can
be seen here.
New Fan-art
and Wallpaper --Nov. 22, 1999
The newest addition to the Raziel
Gallery is an "ultra" cool pic from Ultra V -- a quite interesting portrayal
of the newly winged Raziel.
In an attempt to offer a little something
extra to the Kain fans (like myself who wishes to see more of Kain), I've
created a wallpaper using an concept sketch from the credits. I'm
trying to work on a few more, so suggestions are welcomed.
"Re-vamped"
the Galleries --Nov. 17, 1999
Once again, I completely redone
the galleries. I made the thumbnails smaller, and some of the images
are the larger versions. I also added some more images, especially
to the Nosgothic Gallery. Now all of the images from the ending credits
are here (just not very big, unfortunately).
Got some
Fan-arts --Nov. 17, 1999
Thanks to Maija
Rajala, there are 3 Raziel "fan-arts" up for viewing, which can be
found in the Raziel Gallery.
Added Wallpaper
--Nov. 17, 1999
Available now are the actual wallpapers.
Since .BMP images can get quite big (470Kb for the 800X600 sized, and 770Kb
for 1024X768) they are compressed into Zip files. But these are the
best quality that you can find them in. They are the same ones that
can be downloaded at Eidos Interactive's site, except there they must be
downloaded in groups. I offer each wallpaper file zipped separately
for convenience. Clicking on the thumbnails will show a 800X600 JPEG
preview of the wallpaper.
Soul Reaver
to be released for Dreamcast
--Nov. 10, 1999
It seems that
Soul Reaver will be making its way to the Sega Dreamcast. The rumors
were going around but apparently it is now official. Read about it
here.
Soul Reaver
patch 1.2 --Nov. 10, 1999
Also of note
for those with the PC version of Soul Reaver, Eidos has released a patch.
The 1.2 patch fixes for Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver include:
*Much greater stability, especially when loading saved games.
*Support for the Interact ProPad 6 and all other gamepads which have less
than 8 buttons.
Eidos also
assures that any previous saved games will work with the 1.2 patch.
Download the
1.2
patch and the readme
from Eidos's ftp site.
Links added
--Nov. 10, 1999
Finally added
the Links section. (Sorry it took me so long, guys.) I will
be adding some more images to the galleries soon. For anyone interested,
I'm starting up an
updates mailing-notification
list for the REALM. If you only wish to be notified about certain
updates, then please state them.
Some minor
tweaking... --Oct. 21, 1999
I just changed
a few things that was off. Plus, I added a section on the Warp
Gate Symbols (for those of you who gets them mixed up). I also
changed the Galleries-- I didn't add anything to them yet, just thumbnailed
all the images. (Since it was taking way too long for them to load.)
The REALM
has re-opened --Oct. 16, 1999
I have finally
completed the first step of re-'vamping' the REALM. Though I am far
from satisfied with it. Every page has changed in at least some way,
the greatest changes being in the galleries. I have some more sketches
that belong in the Nosgothic Gallery, but those will be added at a later
date. Another thing missing from the galleries are the wallpapers
- before I was handing out JPEG images as wallpaper and only in 800 X 600
sizes. Once (or if) I can aquire the extra web-space, I will offer
all .BMP wallpapers in both 800 X 600 and 1024 X 786 sizes. (And
perhaps create a few of my own in the future.)
Unfortunately,
it seems that there will be a delay on the Strategies/walkthrough section.
There are, after all, other tasks that I am obligated to complete, and
there is only so much I can do myself. Since I have failed in my
attempt of creating a timely on-line strategy section, I still offer e-mail
tips/hints for those who are 'stuck' in Nosgoth. (Not just for
Soul
Reaver either, I know Blood Omen just as well.)
I have
experienced one hell of a vacation... --Oct.
8, 1999
My journey
to Nosgoth was a wonderous one. Things have changed so much since
my last vist; I've missed so many important events. (I for one am very
interested to see what things were like during the early times of Kain's
empire.) I wish that I could have just stayed there, but unfortunatly
the world's creators are limited as to how much of Nosgoth they can bring
to life at a time. The trip has left me very solemn; with the world
so desolate now, how can there be any hope for the future?
Upon my return
a terrible event had occured, and I found that I had lost all access to
a computer. So for a length of time that seemed like an eternity
to me I was unable to update the REALM. Now that I
have full Internet access I will be able to do much more work than I was
able to do before.
From this point
forward the REALM will be undergoing a constant and gradual
evolution. First I'm removing the ScreenShots section, since it wasn't
done well to begin with. (And to reclaim the much-needed space.)
Next will come the correcting of the Glyph & Adversaries sections
and the addition of an abilities section, so that all basic game
iformation will be covered. Then there will be an expansion/redesign
of the galleries, featuring the images found in the closing credits of
Soul Reaver. Of course I can't forget about Strategies--
I'm currently writing a section that will function as both a hint-giving
resorce (for those who are stuck, but don't want anything spoiled for them)
and a walkthrough that will cover everything from boss strategies to finding
all the artifacts, while also trying to concentrate on the "tougher" areas
of the game. But that's not all-- To counter the sections concentrating
on Raziel, another section and gallery will be created and devoted to Kain.
Later I will be adding 'profiles' of Kain's other lieutenants.
Stay tuned for future developments.
Also my apologies
to those who had e-mailed me before and had not recieved a timely response.
As I mentioned above I didn't have the ability to do so. Now that
I am getting back up to speed I should be able to give my inbox its needed
attention. So if you have any questions, comments, etc. then you
can email me at cyborreaver@hotmail.com.
And until the Strategies section is on-line you can always e-mail me for
hints. I will reply as promptly as possible.
