The Razielim Chronicles

by Elysion

I am a member of the Razielim, a pride and honor that many vampires under this clan have.  I feel this, even as I draw my last breath.  Miles from our home, on this battle field, many of my clan brothers and sisters lay dead, but for a few who were strong enough to survive the onslaught of Kain's attack.

I look up to my beloved, who holds me, we have had so many years of joy together, before our master had been executed.  My beloved's new wings had grown not just a moment ago.  I smile at him, I guess he is the leader now.

As I lay in his arms, I think back to the beginning, no, not that one...

Chapter 1:

I was young and impatient, eager to see what lay beyond the walls of our small village.  I had convinced my older sister to come along with me, not knowing that we would see that place ever again.  As we were walking the path to the river.  Suddenly a horn sounded from our village. We looked at each other, the village was being attacked!  Immediately, I remembered that vampires couldn't touch water.  We ran towards the river, knowing, what would happen if we were caught.  As we ran the trees and bush along the path scratched at our bare arms and tore at our dresses.  I winced as a branch ripped my dress and drew blood from my leg.  I heard the creatures behind me and I started to run faster.  The river was just up ahead!

From behind our pursuers threw a rope around us.  We fell in a heap by the waters edge.  My sister and I attempted to get up but we were ordered to be still.  I look up to three vampire soldiers.  They wore dark leather pant and large boots... they wore no shirts, but were adorned with bands of metal and leather around the shoulders and chest.  Each had a large sword strapped to his back and a long coil of rope at the belt.  One of them loosened the rope had bound our hands behind our backs, he took notice of my cut and bent down to lick the blood off.  I trembled in fear as I was blind-folded.  I was lifted to my feet and was ordered to walk.

I heard the others who had been captured from the village, they were crying, pleading and fighting.  I smelled smoke and knew that the village was burning.  I and the other villagers were marched along the river.  My sister and my self had to rely upon a youth to help us find our footing... no one had taken off our blind-folds.

We walked over hills, valleys and trekked for what seemed like miles.  When we finally did stop, I was tired and sore. I heard a sound of a large iron gate opening and more voices.
"David, I see that your raid went well"
"It was easier then I had first thought..."
"How many did you capture?" the other interrupted.
"37, I belive, the village was small."
"Not much, the Master will be displeased."
"Yeah, I know." He pushed me and one other forward, "These two will be given to Rebecca to see if we have need of more servants, the rest will be taken to the slave camps" He announced, leaving.  I heard the other curse softly to him self, then he summoned a guard.

I was, again, lead down a passageway, deep in the heart of the castle.  I felt my hands being untied and was shoved, I ripped my blind-fold off, to see my sister get pushed in as well.  The guard locked the cell and left us, alone.  I inspected the cell, it was well made from stone that seemed ancient, but strong. My sister shook the the door, nothing.  On the wall outside our prison, a torch burned brightly. Together we huddled in the light, expecting the worst.
