Chapter 2: Revelations
|
"What is this? Why aren't I dead?" I said to myself. I discovered that I could swim, as if it was a natural instinct. A deep voice suddenly filled my head. "Rasona, do not be afraid. I am the Elder God. I will explain this turn of events to you. In your human life, before becoming a Vampire, you were a High Priest of the God of Water. He blessed you with the ability to be able to live in water as if it were land. This gift was given to you at my bidding. I knew you would be one of Raziel's sons, and you shall be important in his revenge against Kain." This disembodied voice spoke to me. "Raziel's revenge?" I asked. "Yes. Raziel shall be brought back to life centuries from now. I have bestowed upon you the ability to shift between the spirit and living worlds at will, so use this to your advantage. I want you to train for Raziel's return, in Nosgoth's Northern Wastes." "The Northern Wastes? This is were Dumah's Clan's City is situated. They would surely help Kain destroy me if they found me!" I protested. The Elder then replied. "Dumah and his Clan will be decimated by humans in about 500 hundred years time, so their city will be abandoned. Be warned though. Dumah's soul will be inhabiting his throne room. Do not remove the instruments of his death from his body, no matter what he promises you. If you bring him back, he will drain your soul from you, and use it for his own needs." "What if I am killed by anyone?" "If you prove you can survive long enough in the newly changing Nosgoth, I shall bring you to my chambers to recover." I set off from the now abandoned Razielim fortress. They were all dead, and I was the only one still alive, the last of the Razielim. I felt I should follow the Elder's advice, and headed off to the Northern Wastes. I stole into the City of the Dumahim, and shited into the Spirit world. To my surprise, the world around me drasticlly altered. I looked around, and saw a double set of wooden doors ahead of me. I tried to open them, but they would not budge. The Elder's voice crept into my head. "Your efforts are futile Rasona. Such objects are but shadows in the Spirit World. You will need to enter the material realm to open doors, and also move things like blocks." I ran into a dark looking corner, and felt my body solidify again. A Dumahim vampire stood with his back to me, with a dark suit of armour on. I grabbed a spear on the wall, and impaled him. I shoved on his armour. It felt uncomfortable, and smelled, but it would have to do. I grabbed another spear, dragged the vampire's twitching corpse away. After hiding it, I opened the doors, and walked into the Dumahim City. It was filled with vampires, with warriors sparring, smiths forging weapons, and some wrestling for the public. I saw Dumah himself was wrestling, and had one poor vampire in a vicious leglock. The vampire was crying out in agony, but didn't cry. A true Dumahim vampire, filled with pride and bravery. I moved further into the city, and once I had explored everywhere I could go, I headed out into the mountains, stripped the armour and shoved it away in a cave. I would keep it in for when I wanted to go to Dumah's City, and began my training. 500 Years Later I had watched the downfall
of the Dumahim, their destruction at the hands of the humans, and the ransacking
of Dumah's City by Turelim vampires, emerging from the mountains, like
an endless supply. I would know, as I mainly fought with these powerful
brutes. I had even fought Turel himself half a dozen times, but he had
always beaten me. Once I had came close to beating him, but in an amazing
show of power he rolled away from my spear and picked me up, swung my over
his head, stopped, and then slammed me into the ground. It had taken me
a whole day to get out, as he kept knocking me back in. He had finally
grown bored, and after wishing me good luck next time, had vanished into
the mists.
A Few Centuries Later I was awoken by a strange
feeling coursing through me. It felt familiar, but I couldn't place it's
feeling. Then the Elder's voice boomed in my head. "Rasona. Raziel has
returned. He is currently at the Sanctury of the Clans, but will be at
the Abyss soon. Make sure he doesn't see you, or my plan will be in ruined.
After you have seen him and know of his new form, I want you to wait for
him to reach the Chronoplast. If he must step into another time, you must
follow. Do you understand?"
I waited at the Abyss, getting there on my wings was an easy task, and watched with shock as my father appeared. He was greatly changed, with body wasted away, the lower parts of his face hidden behind what looked like his Clan drape. He was looking down at the Abyss, and then looked over to where the ruins of my former stronghold was situated. He leaped over the water, and walked into a passage, and disappeared from sight. I took to the skies and flew to the Oracle's caves. I saw the large doors were open, and Turel was entering with a large group of his children. The Elder's voice entered my head. "Rasona, you will be unable to enter this way. Turel will guard the entire area with his children. You must find another way. There is a passage in the mountains that you can use. I am usure of it's location, but it is atop a mountain near this enterance. You must take to the skies to find the enterance. Take heed however, there are creaturess yet unknown haunting these caves. I flew around the mountains,
looking for the enterance. I looked to no avail, but as I turned for a
fouth pass, I noticed a part of the mountain was lighter than the rest.
There was also a rocky ledge jutting out underneath it. I landed, tucked
my wings under my back, and pushed at the wall. It wouldn't move, and I
looked for anything that could help. Then I noticed a flagpole, with the
shredded remains of a banner hanging to the pole. I jumped and flaped my
wings hard. They gave my a large boost, enough to let me reach the pole
and wrench it out from the rocks. I landed and looked around. I noticed
more flagpoles, all had their banners shredded. I noticed a small hole
with carvings around it next to the lighter part of the wall. I tried shoving
the end of the flagpole in, and then tried turning it. A click sounded,
and the wall swung inwards.
The door was then locked, leaving my stuck with Turel.
