We ask that fan-fic submissions be at least 500 words in length before they are added to the site. If you have submitted a story to us in the past that you think might have been overlooked because it was under 500 words in length, you can always send us continuations of your story later on. If you have an idea for a story that is currently under 500 words in length, you can always post it on the forum to share it with others and receive feedback, then submit a longer, more refined version afterward.

We will not publish works that we believe to blatantly promote real life bigotry. This includes (but is not limited to) racism, sexism, and homophobia.

We will not publish fan works pertaining to rape unless that subject is addressed with the utmost seriousness and maturity it deserves. This is now an official rule because several fan-fics have been rejected over the years for misrepresenting rape as a romantic or permissible act.

Nosgothic Realm does not post pornographic images or content. Nor do we post works that are created for the primary purpose of making sexual innuendoes. Aside from the fact that such works are usually degrading and easy to write, we feel that they completely miss the more emotionally, psychologically, and philosophically significant themes in the Legacy of Kain series.

If you feel the need to write about a series of random, nonsensical events that throw LoK characters into contemporary situations having nothing to do with LoK, in which the characters act nothing like themselves for comedic purposes, please be advised that it's been done. We will not be posting any more of such fics. You are welcome to post your works on Nosgothic Realm's forum, but we would like to keep the permanent space in the Fan-Fics section reserved for serious efforts to write interesting stories with substantial relevance to the LoK mythos.
