As he bit into my neck, I knew this was the
end of my life. Yet before all my blood was drained, he offered salvation,
from humanity. He offered immortality. Eager to escape the hellfire I was
soon to spend eternity in, I accepted. With a long black claw, he slit
his right wrist and held it over me. His immortal blood dripped into my
dry, hungry mouth. I lifted my self up, and latched on to his wrist and
almost sucked him dry. Yet he shot me down with a telekinetic blast,
which broke three of my ribs. Yet they healed almost instantaneously. My
body turned as white as the moon. I felt my teeth grow long and sharp.
Yes, I am now immortal.
Chapter 2

“Every 500 years, a necromancer resurrects
5 humans, to become vampires. Each of them receives the normal vampiric
abilities, 3 random dark gifts, and one special dark gift that are better
than any other gift of that ‘family’. That’s four dark gifts each. Are
you following me so far?” My master, Darius, said. He was teaching me how
the vampiric family works.
“I get it so far.” I replied. “Good, now,
that special gift is also a transitional gift. Which means, if you become
a bad blood, defeated by another vampire, and they drink your blood, they
get that gift.” “How do you become a bad blood?” I asked. “Not following
the rules, killing a non-bad blood, or siding with the Sarafan. Now, those
five vampires are ‘the fathers’ and they are able to turn three humans
into vampires. And those vampires get their fathers’ gifts, including the
regular form of their special gift. They also get a new gift and a special
gift. So far so good?” he asked, just to check if I’m paying attention
“Please continue.” I said eager to hear more. “Now, very rarely, the first
born of a ‘father’, gets another gift, a gift only five other vampires
have. The ability to drain the blood of a victim from a distance.” He said
with a tone of excitement and mystery. “Who are these vampires?” I asked
eager to know. “Janos Audron, the first ancient to gain the gift, Vorador,
the first human to become a vampire and our lord Kain, there are two others,
but they are unimportant.”
“Am I your first born? And are you a ‘father’?”
I asked hoping he was. “Yes and yes. We can all but hope you have the gift.
Now, the sons of the ‘father’ can have two sons, and each of them can have
one son. And the gifts carry on and so forth. We both have, Rage, telekinesis
Fury, and Mist. Though my Mist is Stronger. You also have another gift
and a stronger gift. And that is why we are in the eternal prison, young
Jack. After Kain came and went, we turned the prison into a training ground
for younglings like yourself. Your tests are as follows: test your known
abilities; take tests to find which abilities only you have. And the blood
test, to see if you have inherited the blood draining gift. Then there
are tests to see which weapon is for you, and fighting tests, and ranking
tests, and others.”
“Just one question,” I said, “yes?” “When
do I Start?”
