Scattered To the Corners of Nosgoth

Garnel sat at the edge of the massive cliff which overlooked the deep green waters around the lighthouse.  The last few of his clan had mainly retreated to this area, though many bands were still scattered across this bruised and bleeding land.  His master Turel, as far as he knew, was still no where to be found, though some believed that he was out in the snowcapped mountains near the territory of Dumahs' clan, or what little remained of it.  Though he knew he was in no position to think that, since his once proud and powerful clan was all but extinct, as were almost all the other clans.  Still, in the back of his mind, he knew whom was responsible for the chain of events that sent Nosgoth and the Empire on this downward spiral of inevitable destruction: Kain.

For had he not executed Raziel all those centuries ago, there still might be some unity and organization among the clans, there still might be an Empire to be a part of, for there was not really anything to prevent the human mercenaries from storming all the other strong holds of the clans, because after the genocide of the Dumahim, the other clans began to realize that they no longer had the same degree of control over the humans that they used to.  As he closed his eyes and thought, he could still see the huge plumes of black smoke rising from the Dumahims' land, and still hear the piercing screams as one after another of them were impaled, immolated, and slaughtered as if they were mere sheep.  Oh, his people were powerful, able to launch the shattering blasts of telekinetic energy that had been bestowed upon them by their Master and Father, but would that be enough to stop a determined group of humans if they were to have an attack launched against them?  The lighthouse loomed over him, not having been used for centuries, not since the humans occupied the area some millennia before he was ever created, and Garnel had always wondered its purpose, for he new of the complex machinery that was below him, and of the strange temple as well, with that mysterious symbol of the sun, something he had never even seen.  The monterous furnaces built centuries before had blocked out all harmful traces of the sun, to the point were only the newly born fledglings were harmed by its feeble rays.

He looked below and saw something explode out of the water, but it was so fast that he didn't have time to get a good look at it.  There was quiet for several moments, then the sound of a fight on the cliffs below, followed by several screams followed by large splashes of water, as well as a strange electrical hum followed by another tormented scream and a splatter.  He looked below and saw this horrible creature, though several times smaller than he, it was still frightening to him.  All its flesh was gone, and a large cloak was wrapped around its face, and two long strands of torn flesh dangled lifelessly from its back.  From its right hand extended a blue band of energy, writhing and humming.  He saw one of the vampires from his band attack the creature, which easily dodged the blows.  The creature landed several blows with the band of energy, sending trails of blood flying from his brother, causing him to become stunned.  Then the creatures' energy band flashed and was quickly sent into his brother, causing him to explode in a shower of body parts and blood.  He saw several of his brothers rushing toward the creature, and then got up himself to go join the fight, all the time wondering what this creature was, and why he was slaughtering his brethren.
