CHAPTER 1: HOW IT ALL BEGAN
|
Listen to my story……… this just might be the last time I may be able to confess it. Let’s just say it all began with a simple teenaged mistake. How can I say it? I was fifteen and growing up in the ghetto of Detroit City. Let’s just say that I was a strange girl mixed up in reality and suspense. Fifteen with black hair, light tan skin, and I suppose I wore not the most appropriate of all clothes. It was a black, paten leather bikini-style “shirt” with matching pants and high-heeled boots. I must’ve been the most idiotic of all teenaged girls in the world. I hung around with the dirtiest of all gangsters, got drunk and stoned often, got into brawls and gunfights, and even thrown into jail. If it wasn’t for a friend of mine, I would’ve been in jail for the rest of my life. I guess I never realized how cruel life can be if you lived the way I did. But that so-called friend of mine betrayed that trust when he got me pregnant. He was a tall, muscular light-tan man with black hair, living in Detroit like I was. He came from the L.A. gangtown and moved here……… and getting me knocked up. So once he received news that I was pregnant, I suppose the all tough L.A. gangster grew afraid. He left me when I needed his assistance the most, when I thought I had somebody who cared for me. That stupid bastard that used me, I hated him with all my soul. But my anger got the best of me when I went over his house and started pushing him around, knocking him over a table that had lit candles. I was worried about myself at the time, but I felt so guilty when I heard he didn’t make it out. It was an emotional scar on my behalf. So I got older, and mature, I guess. I got a job, dressed more appropriate (baggy blue jeans with a black tank top), had my child, a baby girl I named Soku (in Japanese language for “slay”) and moved out of Detroit. I learned from my mistake, and all that mattered was just Soku was my daughter, a beautiful brunette with long hair who was highly educated, yet silent and very strong. I was the only one who could teach her anything about defense and keeping to herself, and the teachers would give her the education she needed more then anybody else. But one day, something strange happened. It was Soku’s thirteenth birthday, and my God, she looked beautiful. She wore her school’s uniform, a green skirt with the matching top, and gray, ankle-high boots. Her brown hair spilt over her shoulders and her brown eyes and light skin just made her look like an angel. She was my daughter, and I loved her very much. She knew nothing of greed, was very soft spoken and silent, but when you mess with her and get her angry, she’s dangerous. Never to me though, but she has had a few arguments, but never in her life had slapped me across my face and sexually insulted me or anybody else, because she knew better then that. Well, back to the point, it wasn’t a very pleasant birthday for her. We both heard this silent, ghoulish voice like in a Dracula movie or something, and then the temperature dropped. I remember her asking me what was happening, with a tone of fear. I held onto her, hoping that if anything would happen, at least I’d be protecting her. She was the only family I have, and the first person how ever physically belonged to me. And in the blink of an eye, it was as if we were transported into a strange world, unlike our own. It was beautiful, yet eerie at the same time. The place was overflowing with beauty and life, and that’s when it all happened. These strange people with weapons and uniforms saw us just appear, and they believed that we were like demons or something. I was unarmed and these guys had spears and a thick-ass sword. Grabbing Soku by the arm, I began to sprint away from them, her following with me. The chase was on, and my heart seemed to be throbbing out of my chest as we ran. I by the time we reached a place for hiding, I was out of breath, and Soku was panting like crazy. But they were still away us, and we were at this strange looking place, sort of like an ancient temple or so. Running about the ruins and rubble of the “temple”, Soku and I were trying to make our way to the top of the pile, were they couldn’t get us. Just as we drew near, a rock slid under Soku’s foot and she went sliding backwards, causing me to panic. She slid right down and infront of the strangers in uniforms. Soku curled up, scared to death as one of the men went to stab her. I jumped down and kicked the man down, and helped my daughter to the top of the pile. Just then, a man carrying a small, portable cannon launched on of the hot balls of lead at me, knocking me off the pile and over towards another alabaster beam, away from my daughter. I was clinging onto the beam when another warrior walked up above me. There was no rubble for my safe sliding……… there was just a deathly fall below me. “Please……… help me………” I pleaded, wondering why they attacked us. The warrior grabbed me by the collar of my shirt and rose me up to eye level. “Death to the demon………” he hissed as my eyes widened. The last thing I heard before being flung off the beam was Soku’s screams. I fell, hollering with anger and fear as tears streamed down my face. Soku did the correct thing in hiding, but it was too late for me. There was nothing to grab onto……… and then I made impact with the ground. A few moments later, Soku was calling my name silently as the warriors moved away. They must’ve forgot about Soku and moved on, hoping to murder some other victims. Soku walked over to my body, which was lying on the ground, limp and lifeless. She began to shake me a little, hoping that I would wake up sooner or later. She knew that it was impossible though, so she just screamed out, “HELP! SOMEBODY! ANYBODY!” but as her crystal tears ran down the sides of her face, she came back to me and snuggled under one arm, closing her eyes as tears fell from her face. But it was like a gift from God had came down to my lifeless body and Soku. A blue skinned male with cloven hands and large, black wings approached Soku, his voice soft and full of wonder as he approached my daughter. “What has happened here?” he questioned as Soku called out from under my arm and stood up. “The warriors came and……… Mom tried to save me……… it was a murder, I didn’t mean for this to happen………” Soku cried as she began to cry. The creature took the girl in his arms, comforting her. He was obviously a vampire, but didn’t bite the girl’s neck. He was definitely the one who brought Soku and I here. So walking over to my dead body, he began to resurrect me, bringing me back from the presuppose of madness and death. My hands now were cloven, like his, and my canine teeth were fangs, and a pair of black, bat-like wings poked out of my back. I was unconscious, yet, I lived. The man picked me up, carrying me inside the temple as Soku followed him. There was a lot of things going on that she didn’t quite understand, and she wanted some answers. But at the moment, the vampire laid me on the ground in the safest place he thought was suitable for me to stay as he lead Soku away. She looked up at him with fear. “Is she……… alive?” Soku questioned. “You’re mother has been given immortality as a vampire……… you must understand that she will never be quite the same again………” the man replied. “As long as she’s alive……… that’s good enough for me. My name is Soku Himano, and who are you?” she questioned. The man smiled and replied, “My name……… is Janos Audron………”
