Ancient War

Chapter 1: The Landing

The air was cold on his face, it had been a long winter, and the war had been hard they had lost countless numbers. The war had been going on for years he could even remember how it started, just that it was still going to be a long time before it ended or weather he would see it or not. His long flight was nearly over he could clearly see the aerie on the mountainside its majestic figure head showing the nobility of their race. The structure had a magical shield around it, it was only visible to them, the blue wings, so even if a hylden dared come this far away from there putrid pit, they could not even imagine the beauty that stood before them. His journey was over, he closed his angelic wings as he land through the arch and touched the warm carpeted floor, and his master they're to greet him.

"Lucan, I trust you delivered the message?"

Lucan knelt down on one knee. "Yes, Lord Janos, madam Orjina agreed that it was time, and that she would send someone to inform the others."

"Good, are you alright? Was your journey safe?" Lord Janos was looking at Lucan wounds with concern.

"Yes, my lord, I was ambushed by two hylden warriors, but they did not realize that they were ambushing the second son of Janos Audron." Lucan chuckled under his breath.

"Good, you must come eat, you will need to regain your energy for the fourth coming battle."

"Yes, my lord."

As Janos led Lucan to the main hall he could see many blue wings working, making weapons and practicing powerful spells. The blue wings were very good at using magic, the hylden disliked it the liked a weapon they could see and hold, not an invisible force. So we used this to our advantage. Lucan felt guilty that he was not helping them, that he and Janos were eating and drinking while the others worked hard, Janos said that they did not need to work, they, as we are, were ready, but just nervous. After I ate I was to seek out the Seer, a powerful witch and friend of Janos; she was residing in a small hidden cabin just outside of the hylden city of Meridian. It would be a long flight and the night was colder than earlier, but with the Seer fighting along side us we stood more of a chance.
